AAIDD-LA Member-at-Large - Lawand Johnson

Lawand Johnson has a Masters’ degree in Public Administration from the Southern University A&M College and a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Painting and Drawing from Louisiana State University. Ms. Johnson currently works as a Program Monitor Supervisor in the Business Analytics section within the Office for Citizens with Developmental Disabilities. She has worked over 25 years in state & federal government to assist low-income families secure safe & affordable housing, obtain employment and much needed resources and services for IDD participants transitioning into the community. Ms. Johnson is an active volunteer for community based events and has served on the board and as a mentor for senior fellows at Baton Rouge Youth Coalition. Her passions include her faith & family, and caring and advocating for those in need, especially the developmental disabled and the elderly. Ms. Johnson has been a board member of AAIDD-LA since 2023.
